Vitur Summit, the largest European meeting of the short-term rental industry, held its ninth edition at the Andalusian Pavilion of the FITUR International Tourism Fair.

Carlos Pérez-Lanzac, founder of Vitur Summit, presented figures and sector data from a year of positive results and significant growth prospects for the industry.

The official presentation of the Vitur Summit was attended by Francisco Montes, Director General of Tourism of the Junta de Andalucía, and Miguel Ángel Sotillos, President of FEVITUR and co-organiser of the Vitur Summit. They stressed the importance of the short-term rental model for Andalusia and called for unity within the sector.

1. The global market will reach 315 trillion dollars by 2031, with Spain as the undisputed international leader. 

2. In 2023, more than 9 million foreign tourists will choose Spain and stay in rented accommodation.

3. Andalusia will be the top destination in Europe in the first half of 2023, with more than 7 million overnight stays.

4. Vitur Summit 2024 will be held under the new regulation for apartments and tourist accommodation, which marks a milestone in the professionalisation and normalisation of the sector.

5. With more than 60% of accommodation in the hands of professionals, the sector is consolidating as the main economic driver in many municipalities.

The Vitur Summit will officially take place on the 8th and 9th of May at the NH Malaga, in the heart of the city. The aim, as in previous editions, is to explore current changes and trends in the sector.
